Frost Science will host the 4th Annual ReeFLorida Symposium, bringing together more than 200 scientists, conservation professionals, educators and resource managers dedicated to protecting and restoring Florida’s Coral Reef.
This three-day gathering will feature workshops, plenary talks, presentations and poster sessions highlighting the latest research, restoration efforts and education initiatives aimed at safeguarding this vital ecosystem. Through collaboration and knowledge sharing, the symposium aims to advance solutions for one of our region’s most valuable natural resources.
As part of this year’s symposium, the museum will also host special programming on Wednesday, November 11, inviting museum guests to discover the science and innovation behind coral conservation through a new interactive exhibit and a documentary screening.

The Dive: Resilient Reef | Exhibit Unveiling

Be among the first to explore The Dive: Resilient Reef, a new interactive exhibit developed in collaboration with partners of the Florida Re5 Hub. Through digital gameplay, dynamic visuals and engaging storytelling, discover how scientists are working to restore Florida’s Coral Reef, from coral genetics and algae partnerships to innovative conservation techniques.
Meet scientists involved in the project and learn more about their work during the special unveiling, with opportunities to ask questions.

Coral Rescuers | Special Film Screening & Q&A
3:45 p.m. | Frost Planetarium
Experience a special screening of The Coral Rescuers, a 40-minute documentary following a team of scientists and reef guardians racing to save Florida’s remaining corals from extinction as climate change threatens their survival.
Presented on the Frost Planetarium’s 67-foot dome, the screening will be followed by a Q&A with the film’s team, offering an inside look at the efforts underway to protect and restore Florida’s Coral Reef.
