Museum Volunteers for the Environment (MUVE) hosts monthly volunteer workdays focused on restoring Miami’s natural habitats, and on Saturday, November 15, we’re inviting Frost Science members to take part!
From 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., members will help enhance the coastal hammock habitat at Virginia Key North Point Beach Park on Key Biscayne. It’s a hands-on way to connect with fellow Frost Science members while making a meaningful environmental impact. It’s time to #GetMuving!
Volunteers will assist with removing nuisance plant species in the coastal hammock, an essential step in restoring the natural ecosystem. By supporting native plant growth, these efforts promote biodiversity, reduce erosion, and create healthier habitats for wildlife, helping ensure the long-term resilience and beauty of our coastline.
Capacity is limited and all participants must register by Thursday, November 13. Participants under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Participants under 18 years of age must have signed waiver by parent or legal guardian.
This event is being hosted in partnership with the Miami Community ResilientSea Project, a holistic sustainability-based community initiative that unites science, education, and grassroots action to restore habitats and advance climate resilience across Miami-Dade County.
