Aaron Gavin

As the Curator of Animal Husbandry, Aaron leads a passionate team responsible for the daily care, health, and enrichment of Frost Science’s diverse living collection. With an extensive background in coral husbandry and conservation, Aaron brings a science-based, forward-thinking approach to animal care, exhibit development, and environmental education.

Born and raised in Florida and a lifelong resident of the state, Aaron earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Central Florida. His professional journey has included leadership roles in coral conservation, including foundational work with the Florida Coral Rescue Center and ongoing collaboration with industry leaders. Aaron believes in the value of community engagement and involvement opportunities and has helped revitalize the husbandry team’s volunteer programs.

Outside of work, Aaron enjoys exploring the vibrant natural beauty of Florida through activities like paddleboarding, Scuba diving, and exploring local ecosystems. He is also an avid ice hockey player and a lifelong musician. He met his wife, Bailey, in college band and the two continue to share a love of music. Aaron brings curiosity, compassion, and a deep respect for the natural world.
