Jump, fly, dive, and climb, while exploring some of the most extreme sports in the world.

Leap into Extreme Sports: Beyond Human Limits, an action-packed, adrenaline-fueled exhibition that reveals the real science behind extraordinary athletic performance. With Miami set to host a jam-packed season of global sporting moments in 2026, including FIFA World Cup 2026™ matches right here in the Magic City, there’s no better time to celebrate the power of sport. Developed by Science North in partnership with the Ontario Science Centre, this immersive experience debuting at Frost Science this summer lets visitors explore dramatic environments, test their abilities, and discover how physics, biology, and psychology shape the world’s most daring sports.

Feel the rush of breathtaking heights, exhilarating speeds, and profound depths through hands-on challenges and dynamic simulations. Learn how researchers study elite athletes, how rescue teams respond when things go wrong, and how innovators engineer cutting-edge equipment that helps humans go farther, faster, and safer than ever before. Come to Frost Science and experience the science of sport during a year when the world’s eyes are on Miami.

What you’ll experience:

Interactive stations that let you measure your own abilities, from strength and endurance to focus and decision-making

Inspiring stories directly from athletes who share how they persevere through failures and challenges

Real artifacts and authentic extreme sports equipment paired with the STEM principles behind their design

Immersive simulations that reveal the powerful forces and uncontrolled variables, including weather and terrain, that athletes must overcome

Test your reaction time, experiment with balance and coordination, measure your grip strength, and learn how psychology, biology, physics, and technology combine to fuel determination in sports like wingsuit flying, ice and rock climbing, parkour, freediving, and many more.

Extreme Sports: Beyond Human Limits will be on view from Saturday, May 16, through Monday, September 7, 2026, inside the Hsiao Family Special Exhibition Gallery on the first floor of the museum. Admission to the exhibition is included with all museum admission tickets.

Exhibition developed and produced by Science North, Sudbury, Ontario, Canada in partnership with the Ontario Science Centre.
