Join Frost Science for a new programming series that provides a hands-on immersion into the world of technology. Engage with some of the latest technology while learning the basics behind how it works, from coding to electrical engineering. Every workshop includes take-home technology to help ignite curiosity at home.

Sunday, December 12: Exploring Mars

Combine technology and physics to learn how renewable energy helps us reach new worlds, while exploring engineering design and robotics. Then reverse engineer a solar car as we dissemble one to analyze the basics of solar panel circuitry. Lastly, put your remote navigation skills and robotics knowledge to the test by testing your own rover in our Mars landscape obstacle course. As a culminating experience, you’ll be able to speak with Heather Justice, a Rover Driver at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Learn about her personal journey in STEM and discover how her work guiding the Perseverance Rover helps scientists uncover more about Mars.

Tech Lab: Exploring Mars runs from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Cost is $40 per participant and includes a mini rover to take home! Participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, but all ages are welcome. Museum admission must be purchased separately to participate.
