With over 35 years of experience in all areas of planetarium operations, and six years in box office management, Mark Bennett brings a wealth of knowledge to the Frost Science team. He first realized the power of planetariums as teaching tools when studying astronomy at Broward collage in 1980, and later became the Assistant Director of the Aldrin Planetarium in West Palm Beach, Florida. Through that decade, Bennett continued to develop and enhance his skills as an astronomy educator and in 1986 began working with Laser Production Network, producing and running laser light shows in the Miami Space Transit Planetarium.
In 1988 Bennett joined the planetarium staff full-time as production coordinator, and continued to expand his skills in planetarium operations, overseeing the school and public show programing, as well as the the museum’s Weintraub Observatory and the technical needs of the planetarium. In 2010 he also took over the management of the Museum Box Office. With a life long passion for astronomy, Bennett has given thousands of live sky lectures to school groups and the public.
