With over 20 years of experience in informal science education, Sara Raposo oversees the operations of all educational programs at the museum, from conception to implementation, to provide robust and diverse programming for the community. Raposo is a seasoned professional with an international track record of success in instructional design, bilingual education, community engagement and cross-cultural collaboration.
Raposo is originally from Lisbon, Portugal, where she earned a degree and a postgraduate studies certificate in chemistry from the University of Lisbon. Her career in museum education started at the Pavilhão do Conhecimento (Pavilion of Knowledge) and the Science Museum of the University of Lisbon, after which she founded and ran her own business in the STEM education field. Prior to joining Frost Science, Raposo was an education coordinator at the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago. She has done several professional residencies in museums such as the Deutsches Museum in Germany and the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie in France, and is a National Geographic Certified Educator. She is currently enrolled in the Applied Educational Leadership postgraduate program at University College London.
