Daniel Mannina manages the community engagement program for Frost Science, including outreach presentations that bring hands-on STEM-focused learning to area education centers, and special offsite events connecting the museum to various South Florida municipalities. Since his arrival in 2014, Mannina has expanded this effort, which now includes a team of content facilitators that reach more than 80,000 individuals each year through various interactive labs and demos. Recently, the Miami-Dade County Office of the Mayor and Board of County Commissioners presented Mannina with a Certificate of Appreciation to recognize his contributions to constituents across all 13 districts.
Before joining Frost Science, Mannina facilitated and developed conservation-based programs for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and produced Emmy-nominated learning segments for the KidVision learning block at PBS South Florida—both aligned to Next Generation Sunshine State Standards. Mannina grew up in rural Pennsylvania, moving to South Florida in 2001 to earn his bachelor’s degree in ecosystem science and policy as well as a Master of Fine Arts in motion picture film production at the University of Miami. He is a certified interpreter and member of the National Association of Interpretation (NAI).
