Join us for our weeklong camps exploring astronomy, engineering, marine biology, forensic science, and more. Each week of camp will include free exploration time around the museum.

We will continue to monitor limitations to class size or other protocols needed in our programs due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Camp Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., including after care from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Pricing: $350 for members/$400 for nonmembers per week
  • Lunch may be purchased at registration for $54 per week and only in advance, but you can also have your child bring a lunch from home. Campers must bring a non-perishable lunch each day that does not require refrigeration or a microwave.
  • One (1) t-shirt is included with camp registration per week. All campers are required to wear the camp t-shirt while attending camp. Additional T-shirts may be purchased for $10 each.
  • Two (2) snacks per day are included with registration.

Please note, all children must be potty trained and able to use the restroom with complete independence. Children must be at least 4 years of age on the first day of the camp to attend.

June 13 – 17: Forensic Investigators
Calling all Super Sleuths! Help us celebrate the opening of Sherlock Holmes in this top-secret week full of forensic science. From fingerprinting to chromatography, you’ll get a hands-on look at cutting edge technology scientists use to solve crimes. Then, you’ll work with your classmates to piece together the puzzles and unravel a mystery. Grab your cap and magnifying glass- you’re on the case!

June 21 – 24: Turbo Engineering (4-day camp)
Unleash your inner engineer as you zoom through a series of transportation design challenges. Design helicopter blades and train tracks while learning about drag and friction, then take your imagination to the races as you build the ultimate paper airplane and engineer a successful launch to space.

June 27 – July 1: The Ocean is Your Oyster
Come out of your shell and discover the underwater world of marine invertebrates. You’ll explore biodiversity by building bioluminescent jellies and dissecting squids. Then understand the impact of marine invertebrates through invasive species experiments and games about the food chain. Throughout the week, you’ll spend time exploring the Frost Science Aquarium and learning more about our oceanic neighbors.

July 5 – 8: Glow Up! (4-day camp)
Set your love of learning alight with a week full of activities about the physics of light. Explore reflection with mirrors then harness the power of physics to create a laser maze and build your own recyclable creation! Finally, you’ll get a chance to explore light in nature as you race through a photosynthesis relay and discover bioluminescence. Join us for a week of bright ideas!

July 11 – 15: Legends of the Hidden Temple
Go on an archaeological adventure as you explore ancient civilizations and their amazing technological innovations. From measuring the effects of mummification on carrots to building and racing your own mini canoe, you’ll bring prehistory to life through science experiments and crafts. You’ll finish the week in a temple run that puts your archaeological knowledge and physical skills to the test. It’s an epic exploration 10,000 years in the making.

July 18 – 22: Crafty Science
Unleash your creativity as you paint, print, and perform to discover the art behind the sciences. From creating solar paper art, to exploring geometrical patterns in architecture, you’ll discover the close connection between science and art.

July 25 – 29: Everglades Explorers
Take a bite out of summer vacation during this exploration of Florida’s unique natural habitat. You’ll discover watersheds and learn about the importance of the Everglades then dive into the creatures that call this ecosystem home. Finally, measure water quality and learn about invasive species and the action you can take to preserve the wetlands. Along the way, you’ll get up close and personal with alligators, roseate spoonbills, and more wetland residents that call Frost Science home.

August 1 – 5: Colorful Chemistry
Get ready to make a mess this week as you explore the science behind things that fizz, pop and bubble. After reviewing lab safety, you’ll spend the week analyzing amazing reactions found everywhere from distant galaxies to your own kitchen. Conduct experiments with yeast to make the biggest batch of elephant toothpaste then explore the colorful nature of chemical reactions. Learning about chemistry has never been this fun!

August 8 – 12: Astronaut Academy
Do you have what it takes to shoot for the stars? Come tackle some of the challenges real astronauts face by fixing a space glove and conducting experiments with rockets. Of course, being an astronaut requires more than science smarts, so you’ll also train in teamwork and collaboration. At the end of the week, pack your bags and work with your fellow campers to complete a mission to Mars. It’s an out of this world adventure.
