Science never sleeps…especially at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science!
Pack your jammies—you’re invited to join us on Friday, November 9, for the next Frost Science Overnight Adventure. Open to both families and youth groups*—and designed for children ages 5 to 17—our Overnight Adventures are a thrilling way to experience the museum, as you spend the night exploring our interactive exhibitions, conducting experiments, and meeting new people after dark.
November 9 Overnight Adventure: Light Up the Night
Inspired by our newest exhibition Creatures of Light: Nature’s Bioluminescence, we are investigating the world of light. Kick-off the night with an illuminating presentation on chemiluminescence where seemingly normal liquids light up as a result of a unique chemical reaction, then merge artistry and science by creating your own light graffiti pictures of your favorite bioluminescent animals. Behold the glow of our newest Spark of Science: Who Glows There and explore the hidden world of fluorescence, then dance the night away with a glow party on our interactive floor while learning about light as energy. In addition to exploring the museum after hours, admire the light of faraway stars in the night sky with our telescopes and end your evening by unwinding with a family friendly laser show in the Frost Planetarium.
Parking will be available from 6:00 p.m. to 8:15 a.m. for a $10 flat rate. Registration closes November 6, 2018.
*Please note: adults may not attend unless accompanied by youth participants.
** Rooftop telescope stargazing is weather permitting.
