MUVE Volunteer Workday – International Coastal Cleanup Day has been moved to Virginia Key North Point.

The safety of our volunteers is our top priority and we have decided to relocate the cleanup due to extreme high tides expected on September 28th.

Volunteers removing marine debris from a mangrove wetland.

Join Frost Science as we participate in the International Coastal Cleanup. The International Coastal Cleanup began more than 30 years ago, when communities rallied together with the common goal of collecting and documenting the trash littering their coastline. Volunteers will be removing marine debris from East Greynolds Park’s mangrove wetland.

We will become citizen scientists by documenting what we find on the Ocean Conservancy’s Clean Swell app. The data collected by volunteers will go beyond picking up trash because the records of each item collected will be entered on a standardized data card in order to identify ways to eliminate ocean trash in the future.
