Join Frost Science for a new programming series puts you hands-on immersion into the world of technology.
Engage with some of the latest technology while learning the basics behind how it works, from coding to electrical engineering. Tech Labs will occur once a quarter and are designed to encourage interest in STEM through informal science education that engages the whole family.
Tech Lab: Coding 101
March 22, 2020 – 1pm – 3pm
Lights, coding, action! Learn the basics of coding in this hands-on technology lab that highlights how communication and a clear sequence of steps can provide exciting results. Warm up with a logic activity that will spark your analytical and intuitive thinking before getting an introduction to the components involved in a Micro:bit, a pocket sized programmable computer. Then explore the many amazing things you can make with a Micro:bit by simply using a little imagination and problem solving. As you decode the basics behind programming, use our quick guides to put together a code to create your own flash message. Take your Micro:bit home to continue your creations, the possibilities are endless!
Cost: $40 per person, includes a Micro:bit starter kit to take home!
Participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, but all ages are welcome. Museum admission must be purchased separately to participate.
