In the next edition of LIVE@Frost Science, Dr. Wallace J. Nichols, author of New York Times bestseller “Blue Mind,” reveals this neuropsychological connection between water and people in Blue Mind Life: The Seven Ages of Water.
Dr. Nichols will provide insights that can help you live a better life, influence all major sectors of society, build a stronger and wider blue movement, and grow a deeper appreciation of the true value of wild water.
He will be joined by Dr. Debra Lieberman, an evolutionary psychologist and assistant professor with Department of Psychology at the University of Miami, Jim Ritterhoff, co-founder and executive director of FORCE BLUE, a group that empowers veterans of the Special Operations Forces in ocean conservation, Fernando Bretos, Curator of Ecology and Director of MUVE (Museum Volunteers for the Environment) at Frost Science, and Hannes Bend, a pioneer in the use of ocean virtual reality and biofeedback.
Through this interactive lecture, you’ll also take part in the Blue Marbles Project—a global slow-motion art project that encourages people to celebrate random acts of kindness. Guests will also experience SEAing Breath, a virtual reality (VR) experience created by Hannes Bend, Maria Mishurenko and Gordey Chernyy with breath biofeedback, part of the SEA LEVEL RISE Program by Miami-Dade County and the University of Miami.
Dr. Nichols is a senior fellow at the Center for the Blue Economy, a research associate at the California Academy of Sciences and has appeared in hundreds of print, film, radio, and television media outlets including NPR, BBC, PBS, CNN, MSNBC, National Geographic, Animal Planet, Time, Newsweek, Scientific American, and New Scientist.
